Three types of dampers are available for use in rolling mill or oil mist fume exhaust systems

- Exhaust Air Volume Control Dampers are heavy duty with minimum 10-gauge steel blades and minimum ¾ inch diameter axles. Damper frames are seal-welded liquid tight construction.
- CO2 Containment or Isolation Dampers use similar construction as volume control dampers. These dampers cycle closed when the rolling mill fire protection system is activated and serve to keep CO2 or other fire suppression media from being discharged from the system.
- Pressure Relief Dampers are counter-weighted to relieve the high pressure associated with CO2 containment dampers closing. Their purpose is to prevent duct collapse.
